Welcome to Cleveland, Ohio. Stone Gables Bed and Breakfast was founded in 2001 as a 5 room Bed and Breakfast. The personalized friendly service at Stone Gables makes this the perfect city retreat for anyone. We are located in Ohio City, a historic neighborhood on the near west side of Cleveland, Ohio. We are within walking distance to many fine restaurants, and the West Side Market. Downtown Cleveland is less than a mile away. Within that area are the 3 sports teams The Cleveland Indians the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Browns. Additionally The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Great Lakes Science Center and OmniMax Theatre, the Flats, Tower City, Playhouse Square and the Warehouse district are very close.
The Sarah Bousefield house, from 1883, was historically restored. Over 4 years were spent making it a treasure of Cleveland once again. The interior decorating combines historic elegance with modern comfort. There is antique furniture from Belgium, Paris and USA as well as plush overstuffed couches and numerous sitting areas. Relax on the fainting couch in the front parlor while listening to music from the player grand piano. You can check your E-mail from the front parlor or a new wireless internet connection has just been added, so if you have your laptop and wireless card you can cruise the internet from your room. The upper sitting room has a very eclectic library as well as games and even a Playstation 2. Throughout the house original artwork from artists such as Chagall, Picasso, Durer, Rockwell Kent and many other masters can be found.
Every consideration has been taken for the comfort of our guests. Each room has a premium bed with fiber and down/feather pillows, private bathrooms with jacuzzi whirlpool tubs and or large showers, bath robes and even satelite TV. Relax in one of the plush sitting areas or retreat to the privacy of your own room. But let's not forget breakfast. Breakfast is always special at Stone Gables. The gourmet breakfasts are out of this world. Start off with fresh fruit from the West Side Market. The Dark Chocolate Waffles with Frangelica Cream and Hot Fudge are the specialty of the house. We are often told our Eggs Benedict is the best ever. Other breakfasts include Carrot Cake Waffles or French Toast but dietary requests are no problem for us.
We now have an outdoor hottub on the back deck for guests to use.
We do have a private parking lot.
